Heavy Metal: Not just a form a music

According to a recent study published in Consumer Reports, 15 of the most popular protein shakes on the market contain various levels of heavy metals (arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury.)

The article does point out that there are maximum limits for these metals determined by the US Pharmacopeia, meaning that some ingestion of these metals is considered safe. But if you ask me, why would you want to consume any amount of toxic material when there are safer alternatives available?

Arsenic is a known poison and carcinogen. Lead is also connected to cancer, as well as birth defects and lowered intelligence. Mercury is connected to brain, liver, and lung damage along with sensory impairment, and cadmium can create respiratory problems, renal failure, osteoporosis, loss of smell, and cancer.

Heavy metals can build up in the body over time, so you should never think that just because a drink has a tiny little amount in it that it's safe and will not cause effects down the road.

So now for the good news. Shaklee has a line of protein shakes (both soy and whey) that are completely natural, completely safe, and do not and have never contained even the slightest trace of heavy metals. Plus they taste fantastic and make a very economical meal replacement.

But the really exciting thing about Cinch is that it's powered by Leucine, which preserves your muscle mass (so you actually lose fat, and not muscle). No other protein shake on the market has that!

Clean Water, Anyone?

Is your water as clean as you think it is?  You might be surprised to learn that those water filters that are available everywhere you look aren't as effective at cleaning your water as they say they are.

Shaklee's Get Clean Water filtration system does double the duty of conventional water filters - not only does one filter clean double the amount of water (80 gallons vs. 40) but it filters out 9 times more contaminants, including 99% of lead, a toxin known to cause birth defects and lowered intelligence.

Shaklee is committed to creating and providing the healthiest, safest products on the market, for you and your family, and at an affordable cost.  Our new water filtration system with four replaceable filters will provide you with one full year of truly clean, safe water, for just pennies a gallon ($105 member pricing for the starter pack - retail cost $124.75).  Imagine that. With the cost of bottled water these days, if you drink just one bottle of water per day (assuming a standard 20 ounce bottle, which averages $1.25) you'd only get a little over three months of "clean" water, and you'd have contributed 100 plastic bottles to our landfills.

With Shaklee's Get Clean Water, you'll not only save money, but you'll help the environment and you'll be drinking truly safe and clean water.

Get Clean Water today!

Remember, with Shaklee there are two ways to buy.  You can purchase any of our items at the retail cost without becoming a Shaklee member.  But if you become a Shaklee member for a one time fee of $19.99 you will save 15% on every single future purchase you make.  Now that's smart.

Back from 2010 Global Conference!

Earlier this month I had the great fortune to attend the Shaklee 2010 Global Conference in Anaheim, CA!  This conference has gotten me so incredibly motivated to share the products and the dream that Shaklee offers that I decided to come home and create a blog where I could do just that in one convenient place.

So, you might be asking, "What the heck is Shaklee, anyway?"  Well, I'll tell you.

Shaklee Corporation is the #1 natural nutritional supplement company in the United States. But it's more than just vitamins.  Shaklee also makes the #1 non-toxic, completely green cleaning product, called Get Clean.

Shaklee Corporation was founded in 1956 by Dr. Forrest Shaklee, one of the first doctors to ever create a multivitamin.  Imagine all those supplement stores that have popped up the past few years, with shelves upon shelves of vitamins, minerals, and supplements.  This is something most of us take for granted.  We've always had multivitamins available to us.  But without Dr. Shaklee's research, we might not.

Dr. Shaklee believed in natural supplements to enhance our natural health and well-being, and products that are not only good for us, but are good for our planet.  In 1960 Shaklee created the first non-toxic household cleaner, Basic H.  Now, 50 years later, the "grandchild" of Basic H - Basic H2 - is used by Oprah, Rachel Ray, and the Obama family.  It's also been on board the Calypso with Jacques Cousteau and on the international space station.  Not to mention the homes of millions of ordinary citizens in eight countries.

So now perhaps you're wondering why you should choose Shaklee instead of running down to one of those many supplement chain stores.  What makes Shaklee different?  The difference is that Shaklee is committed to quality and scientific research.  Shaklee performs over 350 tests on every ingredient that goes into its supplements, both before it's in the supplement, and after.  They perform over 80,000 research tests every year, and if something doesn't pass, it doesn't get sold.  In 54 years of business there has never once been a product recall, and in 2006 we were the first company in the world to be Climate Neutral certified, meaning that we leave zero impact on our environment.  With Shaklee, you can trust that the products you buy will always be safe, will always work, and will always be green.

Shaklee isn't just about wonderful products though.  It's also a wonderful income opportunity.  Check out the video links to the right of this post to see what I'm talking about - the Shaklee incentive plan is by far the most amazing compensation plan I've ever seen in a home based business.

You might be asking yourself, "if Shaklee is so great, how come it's not sold in stores? Aren't these home based things all scams?"  I know I asked myself that when I first looked into this.   Shaklee isn't sold in stores because Dr. Shaklee wanted his products to be personal, not just something random you pull off a shelf, and he also wanted people to understand how to use the products they were buying.  As the industry grew, the company decided that instead of paying other companies to market and retail their products they would rather pay and reward ordinary people.

If you would like to try Shaklee for yourself or if you are interested in creating your own Shaklee business, contact me either by leaving a comment on any blog post I make, or by emailing me directly at artful.health@gmail.com.  I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about anything relating to Shaklee.

I look forward to hearing from you!
